The guiding philosophy at SunziCloud is that information technology is one of the most important aspects of modern business, on par with the unique value proposition that each business brings to the marketplace. The rapid evolution of technology requires that you have the keen ability to separate that which matters to your industry from that which may be "neat", but is not going to give you an edge over the competition. The timely deployment of technology can literally allow your business to leapfrog competition, while the deployment of the wrong technology, at the wrong time can bring your business to its knees.

Does Your Geek Know Jack?

We employ a team of highly experienced programmers and technology experts. Our team has an insane mastery over the various pieces of the puzzle, yet individually they lack the business acumen that is gained from running a business for years. They have never had to build a salesforce and figure out how to apply the proper metrics to drive decision making, or how to build a brand, or how to get a salesforce to adopt a CRM. They could no easier offer up the solutions to these types of problems than I could log into an SSH terminal and administer a linux server. Thankfully, there is no need. At SunziCloud we are a team lead by business experts who have spent the past 10 years in the trenches, building a highly profitable business through the strategic leverage of the skills of the most talented programmers in the world. Together we bring the best of both worlds.

Become a Guru or Hire One Fast

So here's the deal. If you want to make good decisions, you have two choices. The first choice is to become a bit of an IT guru yourself, by getting up to speed on the major trends, and for some this really is a great way to go. This is a path that I chose. It had a lot to do with the fact that I spent half of the nineties providing IT professionals for development projects throughout the country. I loved learning about everything technical that I could. So when I founded an energy brokerage firm in 2001 I always stayed up on technology that we deployed in our company. My ability to break down various technologies and figure out how to implement them in my business truly gave us an edge, and allowed us to build a very lucrative business in a matter of years. A business that is still doing quite well today. For the rest who have not the time or desire, the key to a proper IT strategy is aligning yourself with an expert who understands business from the inside as well as technology. It is this skill set that will enable you to make smart decisions, and avoid buying into hype that may in fact be all the rage, but may not contribute to the success of your business. The thing is, programmers are awesome, but most of them simply don't have the ability to think like a business owner or manager. They do best when they are part of a team that is lead by business practitioners.
